Prairie Grove

The charming city of Prairie Grove, Arkansas is situated between the cities of Farmington and Lincoln. There are roughly 7,045 people living in this area. It is home to the Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park, one of the two most well-known attractions in Prairie Grove!  The other being a working phone booth circa 1960 across the street from the park. History buffs will appreciate what this city has to offer. The post office has been in operation since 1867! The city also has several historical buildings including North Mock Street as well as the Southern Mercantile Building.

 

If you love antique and vintage shops, downtown Prairie Grove is your place. Known for shops like Daisies and Olives, Miss Rosie’s Vintage & Gift Market, Southern Mercantile, and The Locals Flea Market, Prairie Grove creates the perfect atmosphere for a lighthearted day of antiquing. The Junk Ranch is held each year in the spring and fall. It’s a 2-day junking festival held on a 35-acre farm and has around 250 booth spaces.  If you’re around on Labor Day weekend, check out the annual Clothesline Fair.  This fair has taken place in Prairie Grove to celebrate local artists and craftspeople since 1951.

 

If you need to entertain the little ones, you’ll be happy to find the Prairie Grove Aquatic Park, the Children’s Library and Bob Kidd Lake, which covers 200 acres of surface area.  This lake offers plenty of space for boating, kayaking, and fishing.

Prairie Grove

The Prairie Grove School District is separated into four different schools: Prairie Grove Elementary, Middle, Junior and High School. The mascot is the Tigers (go, Tigers!).

 

If you need a bite to eat in Prairie Grove some of your options include: Gabriela’s Mexican Grill, Coyle’s Restaurant, Magnolia Coffee House, and Mel’s Diner.

 

As of November 2023, there were a total of 121 homes for sale ranging from $173,500 to $1,490,000.  Prairie Grove has a lot of historical homes and neighborhoods from a bye-gone era but you’ll find a lot of new construction as well. In fact, out of the 121 homes currently for sale, 84 of them are new. Over the last year the average home price has been $323,556 with a minimum of $67,500 and a high of $1,225,000.
